Document access & privacy
Only documents intentionally published by an administrator are available for download. Aggregate file-request counts are retained across document revisions. A counted request is not proof of a completed save or a unique visitor. New staff requests, recognised bots, HEAD and range requests are excluded. External-source opens are counted separately from PDF downloads. Raw uploaded PDFs remain private until referenced by a published resource.
For document likes and comments, we store the name and email you provide, your response and its time. Names are self-declared. Only approved comment text and names are public; email addresses stay private. Like counts are approximate. Sharing tools send only the article title and public link to your chosen platform; this website does not post on your behalf or include your email.
When email verification is enabled by the administrator, downloading a hosted document requires your name, email and the six-digit code sent to that email, entered in an on-page pop-up. When verification is disabled, downloads do not request or record your name or email; only aggregate counts are recorded. Codes expire after 10 minutes, allow five attempts, and are limited to the requesting browser and document. The temporary verification and access records expire; download records (name, email, document and timestamps) are retained for 180 days and reviewed by authorised staff. A one-time access cookie expires after five minutes. An email code verifies mailbox access, not a person's identity. Document access does not subscribe you to newsletters.
Cloudflare human verification is used before public code requests. Email is sent using GRIDiNFY's configured provider. On-site verification cannot restrict a third-party document already public on its publisher's website or retract files already downloaded.
